Sample size was 1000 Egyptian adults. Population of Egypt is 80 million plus. Here is a link to the poll. Methods in Detail (Spring 2010 Pew Global Attitudes Survey) Page 22, pdf file

Re: Naut, I have seen at least one of Raye's posts on this issue
Correction... I just checked and it was 80 million, not 300 million...but still a pretty huge number considering that it is less than one hundredth of a percent of the population at 1,000 and much less at about 150 if divided by 7 countries

Naut, I have seen at least one of Raye's posts on this issue
and she had said that the poll was taken out of 300 million people, or something like that? (can't remember exactly)
1,000 out of that many people, to me, would leave for a large margin of error.
But what is even a better point (that I see you didn't mention, and maybe could address) is the fact that the poll was the results of about 7 different countries, only one of which could result in the actual poll of that particular country to be very limited, under 150 people... which leaves an even bigger gap, no? What are your thoughts?

Well, I for one am familiar with the serious academic debate around the question of whether or not all religion can be understood as a social-psychological pathology, but I don't let it bother me, and I seldom take part in it. Whether anyone considers me a "respectable thinker" or not is of little consequence to me. Though I do not have the excellent credentials that others at Blogit have and occasionally flaunt, I do give the subject serious thought and analysis, beginning with and majoring on The Holy Bible, and Biblical history and prophecies which might make me pathological in the eyes of some scholars. Keep writing. I read you even when I do not comment.

I like both of you very much and that's that! LOL One of my best friends
is a New Ager and I think her ideas are way way out there and wacky...she's still a great friend. She's also a liberal and very strong minded. I usually keep my mouth shut around her...(I hate arguing and confrontation, lol) I also keep my mouth shut around my right-wing non-compromising friends...I think I'm too green and liberal for them and too much of a capitalist and conservative for my liberal friends. By the way, have you see where Atlas Shrugged will be coming out as a movie? Looks pretty good! Saw it on You Tube, not a preview on TV. Have a good day!
