I was just going to say that you could be writing this out of the French  Quarter in New Orleans :-)  YOu captured the mellow , consuing and hypnotizing feeling of jazz so well!  Happy Valentine sweetie :-)  xoxoxo

Sounds just like a Jazz Club to me. You caught the atmosphere well.
Where is your link for the cheerful poem? :)

You describe this scene so well
I can smell the cigar smoke and hear those familiar refrains

This touches many senses effectively

--I think it is one of your best pieces!

I have added a post, too. It is also about senses, but not jazz.

I'm there, sitting in that bar, listening to the jazz - you describe it so emotively, Lionreign.

This poem carries nicely along the 'dance rhythm' and is very evocative. Interestingly I have somewhere also a 'jazz' rhythm poem, but different.

lionreign, I could almost smell the cigar smoke and hear the jazz....
Your imagery is so real...like a scene from a 30's or 40's film with Bogie or Cagney at the bar......

This made my mind swirl from Egypts street demonstrations to memories from years ago when the bars closed for the night. Awesome poetry.
