- Go to One Last Valentine for Emily Dickinson
Re: Elyse, thank you! I always wondered how she could do that -
me, when I finally get something on paper just the way I want it, it's the result of a lot of work. I want to remember and save it. - Bob

Bob, this is fabulous - short and sweet but oh so dear and for Emily I know she would've cherished ~ Elyse

Thanks, Kabu. It;s a verse I like to remember when I'm feeling particularly stupid. - Bob

Re: John Cuplet, I still find her a challenge. She puts me on my mettle
just as a reader, not as a fellow poet. She made words do stuff that words aren't expected to do! - Bob

Bob, I can remember taking various Emily Dickinson poems in school....
But after a quick online search, no titles rang any bells (she wrote so many)....from what I gather, she lived a very isolated life...
Your valentines to her I'm sure would have been greeted with a smile.

I agree with Sinome, you are a poet, and I can think of no greater complement, but I too on half used napkins write and then lose but in my case that is usually a good thing.

Re: Sinome, high praise from you! (My mother long ago taught me,
"Bobby, never refuse a complement", but never told me why). You are very gracious. - Bob
