It sounds so easy--"love me or leave me".
It is not easy, not at all.  But it is worth working for and believing in.

I've caught up on all of your recent posts, Naut, and you really deliver some food for thought.  The Brotherhood's looming presence in Egypt is of great concern - to Israel as well as the world right now, and your comments are so informed - we need to keep a hawk's eye on this situation.  Now, as far as Prime Minister Julia Gillard's  position - maybe a little tough in my view, for the U.S. to assume.  Good name, though.

You know Naut, I read this blog of yours and I don't get into the middle of certain discussions, however, I respect your intentions always, don't you know --- in fact I was thinking after reading, we could get some T-shirts maybe drawn up...like these:(the light bulb is the idea icon for --- insert name ---)and pass them around to all our friends --- on the www?  --- just thinking creatively ~ after reading your blog...Elyse ~ ah - it's a sad situation when you actually look at it all...politics and power and greed and wow, snow again in Dallas to happen tonight.

It is nice to be a favourite Australian I have to admit this,,,course he is
being nice to me because that broom gives him nightmares but putting all that aside...the thinking is correct. It is not my place to come here and advocate for everyone to learn my Aussie-isms, it is for me to adapt so on this MS. Prime minister are in accord. Enjoy all the freedom of democracy or go home.

She is awesome; and it goes for anyone who wants to live in another's land to abide by their beliefs and laws! What a profound statement! If only the Pres of the US would be so bold as to make a statement of this nature! Shelly

I can remember receiving that by e-mail, and totally agreed at the time - still do. Justi has a good idea there...about forging a birth certificate, LOL!

BRAVO
This is the best post I have read in a while... Tell it like it is: This is the best sentence of it all and how she clarifies it as if it needed clarifying. 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT…Take It or Leave It. Do you think we could possibly lose her birth certificate and have her run in 2012 for President of the US.

This is a brave and smart move by the aussies...I was born in Casablanca,
a Muslim country and we were so glad to come to the US and embrace the freedoms here.  My parents couldn't see raising five kids there!  As an immigrant to the US, I hate to see any digressions and giving up of freedoms for the sake of security or other culture's and their strong hand.  Yes, we should learn to get along and understand one another, but our country was founded by a constitution to protect us from any religious tyranny and wackos...(not that it has! LOL) but I hope we can maintain it! “Immigrants, not Americans, must adapt…No SHARIA LAW on our books!!!  Maybe it's time for some bumper stickers!

I believe there is documentation that shows when immigrants learn the language and the customs they become more successful with jobs and integration. I also believe that there are those who have no such intentions as peaceful as integration.
