Not sure I agree Pat_B. As a kid, if someone pushed me too hard, I tended to rebel and make things worse by doing exactly the opposite. I don't think all kids are the same..maybe for some you need to let them go and do their own thing, as long as they understand that they must pay the consequences for their own actions. Weird..because my Chinese sign is Tiger....

I liked that, I had a tiger mom and I was a tiger dad but my kids are all doing well even if they don't communicate with me. LOL

How refreshing! Tiger Mom gets a big

from me! I had a Tiger Dad, and although maybe things didn't work out
exactly as planned, he was instrumental in my being more than a
complete bum...

Unfortunately, the proof is in the Micky D's and French Fries
as well. I like to think of a balance though. Some play and some socializing and some chores and lots of books to read and help with home work and projects.
