I used to devour any book by a fellow named Jim Kjelgaard. He made life in the woods so vivid to me, even though I was completely city-bred. When I moved to Suffern I found myself about 20 minutes from serious woods. I was in heaven.- Happy trails! - Bob

This all sounds very exciting as you are out there in the elements and the weather, though maybe a bit risk-taking alone. Being outdoors and in the elements does a great deal for me; it expands my experience and horizons.
