I think TAPS summed it up very well.  Thanks for this post....excellent article....very neat summation of complex issue...and rings true.  I skipped to this particular post in my catching up but am looking forward...well, I don't know if that's the best word due to the subject matter....to your series.  As usual, you are my source for info I can trust, words I can make sense of.....a value beyond telling.

The world is going/has gone totally mad, I'm thinking and indeed, distressingly, very few people have any idea what they or anyone else is doing or should do about anything.

Washington is clueless....and this is news?  It's the primary reason Israel goes it alone much of the time.  As for Egypt, there has never been a meeting of the minds between it and Israel. As I once heard while down in Elat (closest to the Egyptian border, which, down South is merely a hip-high wire fence), the agreement between the two countries is, "We won't kill you if you don't kill us."  Sadly, if the MB come to power, that fence might have to be fortified a bit.....Mal

I think Washington goes for the quick fix and it is usually the wrong thing to do! What a scary situation this has become! Shelly

Some startling statistics you reveal there for us. Very important it is for us to know what the protesters feel...I remember I took a course called Theology in America, and we talked a lot about how Bush felt that Western ideals were universal, which was (and still is) a problem in Iraq.

too long for me...my attention span can't take it. LOL
Actually a good post; I remain concerned....someone once wrote...when leaders in the middle East...not including Israel.......when they hug and kiss on the cheeks....dive for the nearest Bunker!

The challenges are the fact that Egypt is a totally different culture than America. The president needs to educate himself before he can effectively teach others

good info

For good information I will read pages and pages, short and sweet is for lazy readers.  Someone here thinks that since you have only been here less than her, your posts and others(mine) are less important than hers.  So very wrong!!!!

Not only is it hopeless, it is spreading. I bet the Saudi's are are scared to death that they may be next. Israel is left standing all alone and one can be sure that Obama will not stand with them.
