Very interesting so far, so I'm moving on to the next part which is already there because, as seems to be the norm for me these days, I am drastically behind.

My son was deployed to Egypt a while back to train their police and he could see some of the things that are going on now! It was a dangerous situation for him because he had to wear civilian clothing and have an escort when he went sight seeing when off duty! He said ti was a tenuous situation as well! Shelly

There is great concern that this latest "revolution" will be like Iran's Revolution of '79, when a corrupt, but secular government was replaced by a corrupt, Islamic Extremist gov't.  If the Muslim Brotherhood rushes into the vacuum created by the Egyptian uprising, and repeats itself in Yemen, Jordan and the rest of the Arab states, it can only be curtains for the Free World.  Let's hope that younger Egyptians care more about education and employment than perceived wrongs....Mal

Reflections on the Middle East…
Good stuff. Corrupt governments have a way of showing their true intent, we know it, and tolerate it as long as it suits our purpose. It is the end game that always seems to "catch us by surprise." Then the blame game begins.j
