You know you are near to the Hobbits' hiding place when you see the giant kauri trees with both their male and female cones resting against the sky. A clue to where you will find that specific special rooted wonder:
What has roots as nobody sees,
is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes
yet never grows?

Well, I took that little tour, along those trails and through those those woods that really do seem to belong to Middle Earth...Enchanting! The bird in the last picture looks a bit like a magpie, but probably isn't...
