I gave my electric typewriter to Grandson Peter to play with when he was seven. He will soon be 23. When I gave it to him, I had not used it in years and years and years. Remember the eraser brushes that you sharpened like a pencil....and the gunk you pressed against the keys to clean them....and white out....and carbon paper...and onion skin for multiple copies...and file cabinets...and squatting in tight skirts and heels to file in the bottom drawers.....

Right on! You did get your post done on the typewriter! And, I agree, your age group has had the benefit of the computer age! I remember when I was a young school administrator and the typewriter evolved into a word processor, we thought we were in heaven! We never had an idea about what was to follow! sam

FSI, I still remember the big old typewriter my Mom had....
It weighed a ton...if memory serves me right it was of the "underwriter" brand...I doubt even pawn shops would want them now..

what I prefer is the easy way to correct something before the print out or
send.

Well FS I might not believe this but I once had a stamper into which one inserted rubber letters stamped the pad and laboriously wrote a somewhat neat note I won't say a letter. I remember my old Aunt she bought an old typewriter and thought she could be a secretary, she lasted a day she couldn't spell.
