I am amazed too at how it seems that most businesses don't seem to care. I guess they are so big or feel that they are so big that it just does not matter to them.

I think it is because customer service is mostly a thing of the past in
lots of places. Companies used to pay people more, give extra training and then they knew the answers to questions to help customers. Now days they pay just above minimum wage or minimum wage, workers are expected to do several peoples work and they don't care if someone wants the products or not they just get htrought their working day so they can go home and do the same tthing the next day. I think companies have changed their attitudes to their employees and it changes the attitudes of the employees to the customers.

But I was protected by the union when I worked and we made good money, and people were droping right and left from the stress

Lustor
The reality now is the Union's underline work in all aspects of employee activity in large companies. The pay, the benefits, and the protection from being fired is safe no matter how wasteful, arrogant, and or rude to the customer. It is costing us all more.

as far as I can see. people working for the big companies just
don't care...so long as they take home a pay packet then that is all they care...there is no company loyalty because the big multinationals don't share much with their employees...I mean how much support do you get from where you work. None from what I can see.

Re: i think
well the companies are very big, maybe too big for their britches

posted by Lanetay on January 16, 2011 at 6:59 PM | link to this | reply

i think
it has come to the point where they really don't care anymore, at least most of the customer service reps don't. All they really care about is the fact that they are bringing home a paycheck, or maybe they know the company is in jeopardy of some sort, and they aren't allowed to say so, ' maybe you made a good choice?
