"Swords to plowshares, spears to pruning shears", plenty for all peaceloving people, like the Israelis.  Thanks Naut for sharing the truth.  Please keep us posted.

I agree
You are so right on target.  With the canary in the mine you make such a pognant analogy.  Sadly, there are people in this country whose objectives are to restrict liberty and these are the same ones who come out against Israel.

No need to apologize because we all need to be in the know.  We can either search it out and study it for ourselves, or we can read those few who do.  Thank you for educating us.

It is a small nation that the Lord said would be mighty and never be erased! And I believe it! Shelly

Naut
Another wonderful post. I have been reading the Bible for 65 years. This piece is right on. More than one of the old prophets has spoken thousands of years ago about many of the happenings that have occured and one of them is about the Roses that gap speaks of we are told the desert will be made to bloom again. The Jews are God's chosen people and how any sane person can deny that if they read both the Old Testament and the New is beyond me.

Naut - of course all this is so right and so familiar to me.  Israelis are ultimate examples of the phrase, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" - or their own history - "When the world gives you arid, uninhabitable land, make it bloom."  Check out this website, Israel Rose, a small company that sells fresh, gorgeous roses, grown in the Southern Negev (the most arid part of the desert), for just $14 per dozen delivered to your door (for orders of 10 dozen or more).  This is not an "advertisement" but just ONE example of how Israelis can turn what others would complain about into a benefit.....Mal

Nautikos
Kabu has responded well and I agree. We are so tolerant in Canada we nearly had Sharia law here in Ontario for goodness sakes.

just one little point that spoils this for me. Freedom of religion....
also to be found in Canada, Australia, New Zealand The UK etc........one must try to get their facts straight or they lose credibility and that is such a bad thing especially when there are enemies waiting to pounce.

Articles like this about the good Israel has done need to be spread around. Often Israel seems to be painted nowadays as a bully when that really is not the case.

As I finish reading your post tonight I automatically clicked on the print thingie and I realized that I have gotten accustomed to doing so... why you would ask... well because though I do forward your posts to many of my friends, there are some  that prefer hard copies so that they can bring them to their shuls or reunions... My friends like reading you because your colloquial way explains complicated matters in a way that feels right, not over done.   What  I am trying to say in such a clumsy way Naut is that you are doing a terrific job educating us  and at least as far as I am concerned, the things you say and the articles you share  are too important to be read only by our small community here in Blogitville... It occurs to me now you might not want me to share your posts, and I did not ask you if I could so,  if that is the case let me know and I will stop... but I sincerely hope you do not mind... many are hearing facts they knew nothing about and getting introduced to great Israeli writers thanks to you.  Kudos my friend.  xoxoxo
