ChCh this is so vivid with imagery that I could not pick out one line that didn't show something to 'see' and yet, your words write like a flame ablaze...they light and then they flame --- and then another shadow or silhouette takes shape ~ I do like this poem...so passionate and deep. E.E.

Since my dad was a hunter what I saw as I read your poem was the real thing--the woods, the startled animal, the swish or bang, the whop, the floundering, the blood, the limp carcass, the hide, the feathers, the food on the table. I had pretty much forgotten all that; I put it out of my mind as I eat my barbeque these days. You do have a way of bringing things to mind.
