I saw nothing selfish in that, it was lovely and kind. To me it is simply a public need where help was required and you met it. Other arrangements must be made in his personal life there are many other links to effect that. Be blessed.

         Good for you,, and yes you do think twice , maybe thrice, about helping your neighbor or you wouldn't be telling us.  Now just go do it, there are always little things we can do for our neighbors,,, just letting them know that we are there thinking about them, is BIG.

It is because one is a kindness... just for a moment
Where the other seems much more like a chore.  The one does not much affect or take time away from your life, while the other can often seem like an inconvenience.
