Wow. You know I still have

an old Brownie Camera with the view finder on top? Strangely enough, a lot of digital cameras seem to want to reinvent that method of view finding....

Too cool, CD! Mama don't take my Kodachrome, indeed!

It's sad somehow, isn't it? I haven't used my Pentax that has several very good lenses in years, and will probably never again. And I have drawers full of prints, that I will have to 'digitize' one of these days...

I was in a discount store the other day and saw a old canon just like the one I spent 450.00 for years ago, with lenses for 35.00. I miss that old camera, but I don't miss waiting for the development of my pics. Yet it is always hard to say goodbye to even more of the America we grew up in.

and as I sit here waiting for my new camera battery charger to arrive, because I lost my other one --- I consider the worth of these old rolls --- and it reminded me that I have a bag - I mean a large bag inside my closet, yet to be how do you say, "developed" --- that's the ageold term.  I tell you its good to have all these new types of instant digi-matic photo gizmos but I  do miss the old - snap - wind - rewind - flash - and rush to the photo shops for develop.  I do and I am humming that Paul Simon tune now ---  (wonder if he knew of the future when he wrote that song?) ~ Elyse

I love this post.  I spent many years of my life using Kodachrome before my digital came along.  I even took pictures of a train or two while I was at it.  I'm listening to "Mama don't take my Kodachrome away" right now.  You sent me there.  LOL
