What a fine poem! It is so true, age will give one a different perspective! I liked how you tossed in the contrast, it gave the poem some real life! The events made a great impact, too! Nice work! sam

I don't think you would want to be there for long C.G. You would probably be roasting your hamsters.

Re: the carefree life of a gypsy boy sounds so inviting, C.C...Rumor
Well you see Rumor it's no use telling the boy that he is going to marry that miserable little wench at the top of his lane.

I love this poem, and the fact that you make the countryside appreciative
I love the countryside, and most people I have spoken to in the last few months totally miss the beauty of it. great story laced into the poem of the handsome gypsy boy.

C.C.
This is such a warm and beautiful story. If we don't know something is hurtful how can it hurt us... He was young and free - it was not a bad life. Be blessed.

Excellent portrayal of a Gypsy CC. I like how you named the poem Gypsy. It was like a rolling stone that gathered no moss.

Every now and again you just blow me away, leave me breathless
This is as delightful as a picture poem can be....I felt young and free riding along with Granny and stopping for lunch under a shady old oak tree. Poor in posessions maybe, in heritage and memories and freedom....richer than the King upon his throne.Thank you, I am off to read this again.

the carefree life of a gypsy boy sounds so inviting, C.C...
with a loving granny to take care of you and even tell your fortune - and learn there's a fine young lady coming to you....you do make it seem like we're right right with you, and that's a beautiful thing....
