It is the same in Utah and all western states, but it seems that only California invites them with sanctuary cities and imbargos on other states who try to do something about protecting our boarders. I really don't understand your state, how so many of the citizens there continue to vote to fallow the same paths that got you all in the mess your in, but I do emphasize with you. Good luck with the newly weds and may God Bless.

Re: I would probably be feeling somewhat angry myself ....I suppose she did do
her whole family took over the reception and she hadnt done anything but cook, and my daughter paid for the food she cooked, now she is fussing that my daughter had the nerve to ask for some money, like she owes it to her

I would probably be feeling somewhat angry myself ....I suppose she did do
the cooking but it is sort of weird...to cook but not attend...your own son and all.

That is a difficult situation and I'd have a hard time with that too but that doesn't make you racist, it just says your human luv.

You have the right to your own feelings lustor..I think if any immigrant wants to be acknowledged as a true citizen, their love for the language and cultural differences as well as their adherence to the constitution of the country they are in must take precedence.

I do not feel that you are being racist. Our society needs to realize that this is becoming a problem and to figure out a way to solve it.

We have a similar issue in many parts of the UK
Where people won't integrate beyond the state support system; where immigrants have learned to speak English the whole community has benefited from their diversity and traditions but where people are determined not to, they are viewed with suspicion and often worse

I suspect it is in the way we look at things! I am a firm believer that one should speak the language of the country they live in! So, she has her ways and you have yours, perhaps finding a middle ground would be best! I believe you said she made the food, perhaps that was her gift to the newlyweds! Or, she may just be broke like me! lol sam

Lustor
This and all the other things that make differences more than just differences and that is a good balance, it is not a good balance the way it is being governed with Political Correctness. Be blessed and don't get involved in whether you will be one big family. Let the daughter and son-in-law work that out.
