Re: Should one have known
Well it wasn't a joke C G. we just told the old girl to keep it, which she was very pleased to do having grown fond of it.

CC I am sorry but I think I'm being a bit thick today. I didn't get the ending of the goat joke. I read it several times can you give me the punchline and explain it? Did you ever get the goat or did you give up on it?

CORNCROAK
Always very special poetry and yeah friendship can turn into love without even seeing the person.Evergreen as well.

I believe that there is that friendship element with love...I've seen many friends fall into a relationship. Sometimes it panned out. Other times it did not.

Real lasting love must be based on friendship, you have to have breakfast with them daily. Evergreens are boreing compared to vibrant roses who take a break but keep promise alive. This is as always a brilliant poem.

Re: Re: Is thie friendship that can grow into love?
Well quite frankly Sir I think it begins with a certain amount of stress because each person is afraid of being hurt. Good friends make good partners, but it all depends how one defines the emotion. Thank you for your interesting comment, views are my own of course.

"if eyes should meet momentarily....
would that be really asking far too much?" - C.C., they say the eyes have it...if you could get but a glimpse into them, I think all your wondering would be solved....heartfelt poem very well done....

Re: Is thie friendship that can grow into love?
Yes Kabu Thank you I shall get get some ginger and some pickled walnuts if you were nearer I would unload boxes of chocolates on you. It's this diet I'm on, I keep looking in the larder, bit I'm not buying anything until I can hit eleven seven. Car battery went down the swanee today so that's good news for someone. No I don't think friendship can grow into love, some of my friends would be horrified and I would run away to sea.

Re: Is thie friendship that can grow into love?
Ovid wrote that "love begins under the guise of "friendship".  Patience works wonders when love is first put "to the test".  joab
