Newer SW 737's have no bulkhead seats.
The absence of underseat in the last seats is because that's where they keep the goodies and stuff for the kids and etc.

Majroj, you have me wondering now, whose seats give the best leg-room?

I have flown Delta and Southwest in recent days--maybe it was a difference in the model of aircraft you and I have experienced, but SW had the better leg-room.

Anyway, come to NZ--just be sure to get the bulkhead seat, or an exit row.

Those bulkhead seats on SW--you have to stow everything overhead, there's no underseat space... and no tray table.  NZ Air at least does have the little tray table that folds down to the side, and slips under the arm.

I mostly care about getting a window seat with a clear view and a clean window. Leg-room and tray-table are nice to have.

Then I'm not goling to NZ!!!
I call SW's seats "thighmaster seats", trying to keep from nestling hams with my neighbors, and I am not THAT big. And SW describe's their own seating as "generous".

Majroj, I will bring more pockets next time to be sure!
Southwest seats generous?  Compared to NZ Air, they are!

Wear a camera vest, field jacket, and safari pants and ditch the carrry-on.
Hahaha. And half through the trip try to get to your chapstick, notepad, or hand sanitizer. Hope your seats are not Southwest "generous".

Re: TAPS,

They are concerned about the whole kernal, with the germ, as they restrict seeds generally. Even grits are not permitted.  The corn meal muffin mix was okay because the corn is ground to flour.

By the way, why won't they let you bring popcorn or a gift cornbag?
