Pam
There is some good advice on here. Just begin to tell the story with as much memory as with how to. I missed you, glad you went and glad you are back.

Re: Re: It sounds like you're thinking of a memoir, not a novel.
A long while back someone, (I thought that it might even have been you.) asked everyone on Blogit, if it was a good idea to periodically purge their website, of old blogs. I replied that I could not think of any good reason to ever do that.
When I become only a cherished memory, at the tragic, untimely, ending of my life, what a shame it would be, if those who come along afterwards, were unable to read my wisdom! If I had deleted all my past blogs, such folly could set mankind back, GENERATIONS, and perhaps humanity would even lose, MILLENNIA! Shudder!

Bel, my kid Paul, is worthy of a book! A "How NOT-TO-BE," book!...... SOB!

Trying to get those things sorted out can be so tricky. In the end it is certainly well worth it...It's wonderful when people can wonderfully impact one another.

Re: Bel

Naut,

You are probably very right.  I am still sifting through the idea and putting it together in a way that will work.  Thanks  :)

Re: It sounds like you're thinking of a memoir, not a novel.

Pat,

Definitely a memoir.  Funny, I was just kicking myself for deleting many of my past entries and blogs because I have lost so much material.  I am trying to dig into my memory for so much and piece it together.

I am going to get that book.  Thank you!

It sounds like you're thinking of a memoir, not a novel.

But my earlier recommendation for "No Plot? No Problem." by Chris Baty still stands. It is jampacked with inspiration. There are so many ways to go about telling your story -- start with here and now, then work backward to there and then, or begin at the beginning and proceed in chronological order, etc., etc.

One suggestion: Go back as far as you can in Blogit and copy / paste all your posts on this subject. Save them in researchable files, by month and year.  As you pull this story together they will refresh your memory, and maybe save you some re-write time.

Bel

Just off the cuff, as it were: It strikes me that this book might actually be more about yourself, i.e. about the ways you have changed, the journey of getting from where you were to where you are now... In the end it was you who brought about the changes, although Pam may well have been the catalyst...
