I think you
think Jag has a theory of mind!  You could come spend some time with my doggie and let me know if he does  Don't worry you are never boring!

That was a cool experiment! I like as soon as you were to leave he would be in the bowl, too! Shelly

JAG --- he does love you Naut --- now my puggie (here we again with a wonder if how big their brains are...?) I could put a treat in his bowl and before I even said WAIT --- he'd have it gulped up.  We're working on 'sit' because he has a tendency to want to go with you --- but he jumps back and forth over your arms while you're trying to harness and well, the only thing this little guy relates to is, "eat? --- go?" --- Hmmm I find interest in this because truly none of my pack dogs follow commands perse in order or fashion.  Only the tone in my voice lets them know I mean business when its necessary (or they may sense it...) as for Jag
It is actually pretty amazing how animals understand so much more than we give them credit for. I can sit and watch my daughter's dog for hours, and still never be bored.

It's pretty neat how an animal can seem to understand words.

I learned with dogs

It was important to train them to wait for the command to take food as I had one family dog that had been poisoned by a twisted evil neighbor.

Jag is a good boy!

I once had a dog, in fact she was the last one I ever owned...
who learned to follow my hand signals. She went hysterical, a fighting fish on the line, any time I attached a leash to her collar, I suspect it stems from something from her puppyhood before I got her. But she was on a voice leash. She definitely got words in context. Thank you for reminding me of my old friend.

Grump-puppy will do that too, Naut. As for Bud? He'll do it if HE wants to...or if thinks he really has no choice...until you turn your head, LOL! Like humans, each dog has a unique character, don't you find?

Nautikos
Didn't JAG bite ya once? Was he eating one of those neat sandwich's at that time? Did ya bite him back? Does he speak Francais? Hey he's in Canada but he is a poodle right?

He is so good.  I'm sure that if I were a dog, I would not have waited.
