Years ago, I posted this about Chia Pets, etc. Hope you enjoy it....... Guy
I suspect that somewhere there is a huge warehouse filled with "The Clapper," Chia pets, facial hair pullers, nose and ear-hair trimmers, popcorn poppers, hand-cranked and electric ice cream makers, bread dough kneaders, Chinese made toys, crock-pots, garish multi-colored holiday themed sweaters, men’s cologne and aftershave, mid-calf high knitted (aptly-named) “slippers,” one could ski in, and a variety of cheap holiday gifts. These products have little reason to even exist, but as gifts for distant relatives, in-laws, and people that you don’t really like enough to spend more that a few dollars on, or can’t think of any appropriate gift for. Each November this warehouse nearly empties completely out, supplying this unique shopping niche, leaving the warehouse practically empty, except for crates full of candy corn and marshmallow "Peeps," that will leave shortly before their appropriate holidays, for these remaining and also equally tasteless things.
If this warehouse were ever to burn down, there would be panic in the streets, because shoppers would have no choice but to spend much more time and money, than they had planned to, for these peripheral gift recipients. There must be big money in being the “Chia Pet Warehouse King,” because if there wasn’t, it wouldn’t be worth enduring the derisive laughter and behind your back ridicule, of peers and acquaintances.
A lot of money would be saved by there being no need for security systems and warehouse guards, because nobody would steal any of that crap. Insurance rates would be very cheap, too. Yep, once my thoughts on this subject get out to the public at large, the mob will likely muscle into this previously unsuspected lucrative money maker. Sorry Chia Pet King, you’ll have to go back to being a slumlord, lawyer or a politician again.
