- Go to Jag, My Doggie…Part XXIX
Very interesting. I can vouch for the stealing food silently...my Weimer got into a wrapped plate of cookies I was saving for the neighbors...at the whole thing, carefully pealing off the wrap....without my knowledge. I was just around the corner from her. It was afterward, when she began to noisily play with the wrap on the living room floor, that she was discovered. But she didn't make one sound while she was devouring seven large zucchini cookies with strawberry icing. The little sneak!
Nautikos, thank you also for your continued encouragement. What a boost to be smack in the middle of the editing abyss, and to find your message this morning. Sending good vibes back your direction.

Like the others I sense that dogs have an extra sense with these sorts of things as well...

Nautikos
I think dogs have a sixth sense which in us humans is not so well-developed. The bad habits they have, like stealing, is of course learned from us.

This made me laugh remembering when Andre the Gentleman Dog silently stole a big steak that was being prepared for the grill when the one intending to cook it decided to make a quick trip to the bathroom before putting over the coals.

I always suspected that some dogs were more aware than many of the humans they serve. Keep writing, Nautikos - this is powerful interesting!

I saw a special (I believe on PBS) about dogs that was very interesting
a few days ago. It seems dogs have been studying humans for about 4,000 years, and that in fact they train us to a certain extent. They watch, anticipate, understand time schedules, body language, etc. I wonder what Jag would blog about Naut...
