C.C. ...
Gran certainly has a mind of her own and I sense a very independent spirit, which is good...I imagine when she said "Not another word", whether you'd said anything or not, you kept silent...hey, they smell something very tasty, and still warm, too..yummmm......

Re: Sam
The little shop is an antique shop now Sam, funny how one can drift back inside and and remember the smell of the cakes and pasties.

Oh my goodness; this reminded me of pasties my aunt would make! they are a real hit in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! Ans it has make me so hungry for one but I am hundreds of miles away! I can smell them baking right now! I love it when a poem brings a fond memory to mind! KUDOS! sam

I am going to make Wiley some pasties....he has never had one
I grew up making pasties....Cornish people endeed in South Australia ..in the tin mines near where I lived and they brought the Cornish Pastie with them.  I guess I really am a bit English....cept for my accent.

Cc I have to agree - I adore these poems. (more please)  Like all of this one - yum - those pasties sound delicious.  Too good! and I like the ruffled feathers part.  You're too keen.  Wonderful right and 'lovely' memory.  E.E.

I love pasties
the baker in our village does a fine job of providing them and other goodies. Liked the poem - it painted a very clear picture for me

I have never purchased pasties, but I love reading your poem about pasties and I think when I get my PC back (or replaced) I shall search for recipes for pasties and perhaps make some of my own.
