Always a treat to read a well written piece. Especially like how it went right ino "high over valleys of...'unforgivenss'...what a fresh & interesting concept, and it was here I really felt I was reading something, and the following lines did not fail expectations..."cliffs now barren (watch spelling) empty-blank-faced". The hyphenation really works as if to re-work language into a sculpted idea.
From here the rest of the poem flows easily leading into the pleasant surprise of the "turnabout" from present to reflection (tho I was a little surprised to meet a mouthful of teeth).
If poetry is the reinvention of languge, and to be startled off my seat,the unspokeness of originality might also be the timing and delivery thru form.
Other than that (and don't quote me), there is something about this one that spoke to me.
