Re: Talion -- another facet of the invisible class:
I had a dynamite response to your comment about invisibility -- then deleted it. It sounded too damn defensive. What I shoulda said was that you make a very good, very sharp and uncomfortable point. I have become very much aware that for much of my growing up life I did not know I'd been gifted with privilege just because of the color of my skin. I made assumptions that in America everyone has a chance. Even Dr. King's passion did not correct my false impression. What did wake me up was friends like you. Their stories, caring people who shared what it IS with me. I will not tell you you should keep speaking out on Blogit and elsewhere. But I thank you for making your point on my blog. :)pat

Another facet of the invisible class: black people who aren't thought of as gang-banging, drug-selling/using, loud, ignorant, uneducated, baby-making, rap music emulating, lazy, white people hating/racism-blaming, perpetual victim, criminals.

I think I agree with Kabu! We need a category of the 'Unsung Hero'...

actually the invisible class is huge...hard working, diligent, honest,
pay their taxes and their bills, law abiding, good neighbours, give to charities, always jump in to help where needed, vote, have a kind word for everyone ...even the old and or sick...but they don't make for news.
