Go to Malcolm's midwife: Words from the heartAdd a commentGo to Quality time

Such sadnesses do make us really appreciate our own joys sometimes, even as our hearts go out to those who have suffered.

I am so sorry to learn of the death; it does help one to put life in proper perspective! How nice to catch up a game! Too fun! And the chicken roasting sounded so good! I ope you have great week, no stress! sam

So right that you just never know what may happen next. How sad. Thank you for the visit and as to Bonfire night...maybe it is all that fire lit up that brings down the rain so we can actually say Guy Fawkes has some meterological instincts..

We get BBC America on cable, but even they don't have the
old favorites, sitcoms or drama series. I loved "As Time Goes By" and would watch even tenth re-runs. It never got old. I got hooked on "Ballykissangel" while I was living in Seattle, never missed an episode. Since then I've seen several of those actors in other dramas and comedies. Once in a while there's something on PBS that comes from the UK.

there is only one thing I really miss living here in Canada...we don't get
enough English shows.......English humour especially is the best ....for me. Wiley and I go back to sharing the Goon Show.

This post reminds me of how we should value every moment we live.

Malcolm

You are right, we never know what's around the next corner and that was very sad about a younger man with young children having a heart attack.

Good for you enjoying every minute of your family, they are gone soon enough I am sorry to say. Have a grand week my friend.

You are so right Malcolm.  We-myself included in this thought-take so much for granted in this life.  Our loved ones and friends...the ability to stop and look at God's creation.  If only we would learn to simply stop and be.  Just be.  That's all our Father ever really asks of us, so long as we remember to worship Him and help those who need it most.

I am glad you are so close to your wife and children.  I pray for your continued blessings.

My heart goes out to this little girl and her family at this time.

Yes I remember Upstairs and Downstairs it was quite realistic  Malcom my Mum had experiences similar well worse in fact. In a way it is good that people are liberated but sadly it always goes to far the other way. It is sweet that you are drawn closer by sad news, It is not a thing to keep to one's self.

Quality time
Odd, sad and difficult times do draw loved ones closer. Interesting read.
