My Dad was a cop right at the end of the Pendergast years in Kansas City.  He had lots of tales to tell.

Re: WileyJohn -- is this Rod Blagojevich getting away with it?
Last news story I saw about it the new trial is happening some time after the first of the year, February I think. The hope is that they'll be able to nail him on at least nineteen of the 23 counts -- they only got one conviction this time, "lying to an FBI agent."

Just remember that when you write fiction it has to be seen that way. If people recognise anyone in particular in your writing clearly enough, then law suits come into play...

Inside information
is delicious isn't it? Far better than the made-up gossip that so often masquerades as a poor substitute.

Pat
you have such a way of engaging when you write.  I always find myself imaging the people you write about, they develop a form, face, mannerisms in my mind.  Keep writing Lady, because you have more talent in your baby finger than most of the "bestsellers" out there.

Not only an immediate source for material, but also a friend who likes to chat - perfect! I can hear future projects buzzing away in that author mind of yours, Pat-B!
