Or why have political parties at all?
I, for one, will not be voting for a party candidate in 2012.  As I did in the recent election, I will be writing myself in if I am not aware of a non-party candidate with whom I agree on key issues.

I think it is good to be true to the principles of a party but there is such a mess these days it makes me ponder how it will ever get itself straightened out! sam

Y I would prefer active candidates in office. Similarly to Sarah Palin but for a more normal reason ((Didn’t he lose?), and notwithstanding that he’s an academic without the Nixon cabinet position of Henry Kissinger that’s still better than Sarah Palin’s celebrity tour; he’s a news or talk program guest to me more than the usual politician whose motive is to move up in office within a shorter period of time. I want them to work in office now before the election. However issues will decide the next presidential one. Healthcare and social security are serious matters that can’t be radicalized with either political philosophy. And, I believe there are two. I find your analysis interesting within thinking that I respect. Take care. BCis-A, Bill’s RJLst

Penny's a good man.......
I believe a member of the Cato Institute......I wish him well....but he's taking on one big machine.  IF the GOPhers don't produce this time, we all need to gravitate toward a party that is in line with saving our Constitution.......

Welcome to Blogit!  I am looking forward to reading what you have to say!
