very interesting, post...very important info...as for Obama being Muslim,
how can you say for sure that he is or that he is not???  Obama Hussein Barak--... is a muslim name does that make him muslim, probably not. The fact that he went to Muslim school in his youth...proably yes....does that make him muslim? perhaps not......his behavior towards muslim....well, not too shabby......that doesnt make him muslim either...//..But, even if he is muslim, so what he has a right to be whatever religion he wants to be, however..... if it smells like shit and it taste like shit, and it's name is shit, a good assumption would be that probably you can assume it is shit........lol ok thats enough of that

Concilliation of these furies is a hopeless endeavor indeed.  Interesting to read this today after most of the election results are in.

Nautikos
I'm inclined to agree with Kabu and Wiley that muslim countries will eventually solve their own problems, but it's what they do outside their own countries that worries me. That Obama stretched out a hand to them to defuse an infected status quo when he came into power, does not make him a muslim like some of your readers seem to think -- not any more than what EU-governments are doing turning the other cheek to be slapped.  In Istanbul a suicide bomber was at it again yesterday causing injury and devastation. Turkey is applying to become a member-state of the EU and that means free movement to other member-states. Is that cause for concern? The consensus on this side of the ocean is yes.

Yes, Naut, despite what most people who've commented here believe, I'm with you in that Obama is not Muslim.  No Muslim I know would host a Passover Seder and go regularly to church!!  As far as my beloved Michael Bloomberg (who I'd vote for in a second if he ran for Prez as some are begging him to do), he's as foolish as a fox.  I'm assuming you call him "foolish" because he defended our country's religious freedoms by defending the downtown Moslem Center, but Bloomberg does preside over the one of the most diverse cities in the world and has done it well.  Unlike the animus towards his predecessor, Guliani, you won't hear too many protests about Bloomberg from New Yorkers.  As far as Obama throwing Israel under a bus, as you imply, then why would he send his Envoy to UN Human Rights Council to say this?:

3)  End discriminatory and unequal treatment of Israel:

Here the specific recommendation is to combat the Council's obsessive adoption of one-sided and biased resolutions against one state -  Israel, and to seek to remove permanent agenda Item No. 7 that institutionalises such discriminatory treatment.

The United States has vigorously and unequivocally protested the politicized efforts of some Council members to continually target Israel especially while they ignore serious problems in their own countries and around the globe.  Since taking up membership, the United States has consistently voted “No” on biased Council action against Israel, and we will continue to vote our conscience on such issues, even when it isolates us in the Council.  The United States is also working to normalize the Council’s treatment of Israel through other means, by welcoming Israel into the JUSCANZ informal consultation group of like-minded, democratic countries.  And, we have been a leading advocate of removing Item 7 from the agenda during the 2011 review process and remain firmly committed to that goal.

great post, interesting how I agree with you almost 100% of the time
but about Obama and his islamic connection and loyalty , and the question of him being muslim, I say you need to dig a bit deeper into his history.

I enjoyed reading his viewpoint. He makes a lot of sense.

Naut
Well written post as usual. How does one account Obama clueless when his grandfather was the first ruler, president or whatever you want to call the office after Kenya was released from the British? What about the fact that his mother was married to a Muslim when Obama was a child and early teen, he attended Muslim schools in Indonesia? What about the time he spent in Pakistan with his Pakistani room mates when he was in school in California? He left Pakistan and went to Kenya and through Islamic rituals had his name changed an Islamic name which he carries to this day?  There is too much we know a bit about but not enough about this man. What about his declaration: If there is war between Muslim countries and America his allegiance is with the Muslims? Have you read his books?

I believe our Wiley when he says that the Muslim countries
will solve their problems themselves eventually...they don't understand our way of life...we don't understand their thinking....very simplistically put, but I don't think that they want a nuclear war any more than we do.

Ah - a non-silent Muslim finally.  How likely are people to hear him?
