Jeff,

The problem is that like your checkbook, you can't spend more than you have or you have a negative balance. We not only have a negative balance, but we have borrowed from other countries, our social security/disability and every other plan that we have and no money to replenish those accounts. Instead we are going bankrupt. And raising taxes aren't the answer, as there are so many people out of work, that the higher tax burden falls on those that are working and barely surviving. The conservatives have a right to be upset. We all should be upset. If Congress doesn't permanently extend Bush's tax cuts for everyone, we willl all be paying an outrageous amount of taxes come January.

Where is the money coming from?   We either borrow it or just print the damned stuff........it's a ponzi scheme.....

Can you, as an individual, 24/7/365, spend 30% more than you earn without repercussions?   It's all a matter of perspective......all of the spending you speak of added together pales in comparison to the amounts squandered since this group took over Congress in January of 2007.......we have spent 5 TRILLION dollars more than we have taken in.

I've wondered that myself.
