Well, the bottom line is they're going to work no matter where the placement! Children that work are being deprived of a childhood! It pains me when I read what they have to do to even stay alive! Shelly

Hmmmm.  Seems like I remember picking spring onions (and green beans, and tomatoes, and radishes, and digging potatoes, and picking okra, etc.) from my parents large garden when I was at least that young.  I didn't really like it, but it didn't seem to hurt me any--and I didn't get paid for it.  I did like eating when supper was on the table.

I am really wondering what's best: bringing your kids with you at work (and have them work along side you) or letting them alone (i mean completely ALONE) in a house (sometime chain to a table or to their bed in case of very young child, so that they won't go anywhere) while their parents are going working 2-3 jobs in a row? I don't know.....

while this is a seriously subject
I can't help but laugh at Kabu and Pat's response to these.  And hey!  What's wrong with a riding a broom, it's my preferred method of transportation.  The skateboard left too many bruised in places we don't want to talk about LOL!

Child labour?
It may appear that child labour is used. The fact is that Romania is a member-state of the EU (European Union). The tragedy is that poor unskilled Romanians are being exploited by unscrupulous employment agencies and sent to more developed EU member-states to work as farm hands and worse, as beggars. Parents often bring their children with them just because they have nobody to leave them with.

Hi Naut,

What a tragic and terrible situation for these children.  Something must be done about it.

It's not about the working, but all about the timing, huh Naut? Different priorities for different folks.

Romanian children digging onions! Working!
Quick, find out how the parents got 'em to actually put down the game boy and contribute. Maybe Kabu's right, maybe the mothers actually do have the ability to cast spells.
