THANKS GUYS
I really can't remember back that far, though I do remember crying, because my family wanted to watch the Baltimore Orioles play in the baseball playoffs while I wanted to watch football. Baseball was king then and the O's were on their way to a world's championship, but I didn't care. I guess I was ahead of my time in knowing that football was about to become more popular. My memory of football really started the next year. And wouldn't you know it, the original Monday Night Football theme has just come up on my Realplayer playlist.

Interesting piece on the 1970 status! I might have preferred a game ending in a tie to the joke that is called overtime now. Although who can be happy with a tie, there has to be a winner and a loser. So I take that back, but I do wonder when the NFL is going to wise up and adopt the college football rules for overtime! It seems that whoever wins the coin toss wins the game. Or how about if a team has to win by a TD in OT? OT is exciting, but it all comes down to the anti-climatic field goal!
