Re:
Yes csherloc I was fond of one tree in a kind of way it always had the best conkers, didn't you ever play that game. I expect it is banned in the schools too dangerous these days.

Re:
Thank you E.E. I just couldn't seem to get this poem right, but I pass an avenue you of these trees occasionally and the all look so sad and bedraggled it would be a mercy to cut them down, I can't see how they can be brought back to former glory.

Re: C.C...
Perhaps a seed or two will flourish Rumor I think the elms that were used to make coffins once relied more on suckers which were more vulnerable. the skyline changed when they died.

C.C...
I hate to see any type of tree ravaged by disease - chestnut especially - because at least around here there are so few left....one can only hope as you mention that a seed or two finds its way into the ground and in time, new trees will flourish..

When you plant your seed in the garden of life it will flourish and grow again..This is where our Faith comes into play. A tree that will even shelter the birds. Blessings Femia

Chestnut trees ravaged by disease simply breaks my heart. Pleased to think of her and will retain the imagery you've shared...this is very moving. and if not in your lifetime I know that seed will spread another tree to bear and bring joy to youthful boys and girls ... EE

Hi CC this is another dimension of you, you stayed focused on this Chestnut tree from start to finish. A little teasing.----Now I feel sorry for this tree, the memories.
