Obstacles can lead to a lot of great writing.

Go and do something else, watch a funny movie, go for a walk and take your mind off the writers block, and go back to writing nice and fresh. There is always the old way of thinking of what it is you are supposed to be writing about (say the topic) and thinkof a series of words related to it. Say them fast with a friend backwards and forwards between you or just try to blurt out related words quicker and quicker by yourself. Do this as a type of game and that will usually get your mind thinking and your pen trying to keep up.

my usual response to writers' block is to write a poem about how I can't write a poem... this may just be my natural perversity

Some good tips there luv, thank you. I'm lucky to just communicate in Blogit but have no stamina left for learning because I'm just not so 'with it' anymore.
