Re: one of a kind
Thanks. I can't think of anyone else who provides so many details to work with.

Bob, hey, add me to the John Wayne fans...:)
Here's a trivia question for you: "Did he ever get killed in any of his movies?"...one comes to mind, but no more than that (but I could easily be wrong)....btw, the poem is great fun.......

Re: my hero
I think he pretty much had the market cornered.  I always wondered how he twirled and cocked that Winchester
with the loopy lever without shooting himself!  Someone else used it in a TV western.  Glad you liked it!

Re: completely him
Thanks.  The funny thing is I started out doing Clint Eastwood, but the characteristics parted company pretty quick
and I found myself looking at John Wayne instead!  No great actor, but a lot of fun to watch!  I guess the tough thing about Eastwood is that there are a few more dimensions to his persona.  For one thing there's a hint of cleverness, suppressed anger, .and some kind of other life behind the scowl.  I remember him singing "I Talk to the Trees" in Paint Your Wagon - memorably odd!

Re:John Wayne
Thanks!  I couldn't get in the poem one of his favorite ways of stealing a scene, splitting a line in two:
"Ya better put your money where yer mouth is ....stranger."  "Don't think I've...had the pleasure, mam."
