Re: Re: Re:
Thank you E.E. I did actually write not poetry but just for myself I had to go back gradually to find the creeper as it were and there it was rooted in my baby brain and I realized what had happened. A bit dramatic , but if I had been older I would have understood that it was a lie.

I love this line: I was saved by the gentle power of life’s force.  Indeed! sam

Re: Re:
CC I read at times, the classics ~ I am given gifts of the classics most often for celebrations by family and friends.   And I do understand the stealing from not realizing...however, like any poetry - classic to new - sometimes a thought inspires/sticks and we, as writers or artists may bring another thought from that in a whole different perspective.  There are times I have read a word, some of yours in fact, that simply 'stick' and I study it and I work with it because by jiminy, it is so lovely or authentic - so what I want to 'say' and have never put my finger on it.  It's like a revelation ~ AH!!! that's the word - that's the feeling - that's the...(you get my drift).  CC - I also agree one can 'block' trauma out.  I understand.  I believe a deep niche or cavity of our brain absorbs the effect but it carves a niche - like a hole and as long as it doesn't fester then we can continue on.  I'm sorry the pain was put on your innocence.  Yes...I think the more sensitive we are the more those painful memories will linger and yes, stick.  I was a very sensitive child with eyes wide open.  I think it great if you write of it and clear it out.  Thank you for your thoughtful reply ~ EE

CC..I like your idea of kicking the ash out the front door and getting life back in order again.

Re: C.C....
WEll Rumor I sometimes think how easy life would be kicking the ashes out the front door assuming one lived in a better class cave one would have to keep a large stone rolled across if one lived on the ground floor, those nasty old Sabre toothed tigers would probably sit outside waiting, I have just cleaned my computer room out and now can't find anything.

Re:
Well E.E. I am ashamed to say I haven't read poetry for eons I remember reading something by Shelly which I thought was clever and Dylan Thomas was popular, fashion changes so quickly. The reason I don't read poetry is I would be sure to steal from it not realizing. Whereas if I thought of something that you or Sam for instance had written I would recognize it hopefully. No I don't think one can achieve total wipe out especially when it comes to traumatic scenes because it is like a computer one writes and overwrites it in the mind and it remains fairly vivid, but one can block it off, so it doesn't interfere with one's life. I can remember a scene when I was in a pram with a minder and she told someone something which gave me a pain in the mind at that age. So it is a problem.

Re: Cave
Of course Bob how do you think I have beaten Old John to the draw every time. We druids look out for men of your caliber to carry the skulls, start growing a beard before you tender an application. You can make up something to tell your wife, like he does really live in a cave.

C.C....

"One saves things that are not without penalties"

And thus we have to clean out our caves eventually to keep the unneeded and likely unwanted from piling up.....and thus the cave is emptied and cleaned...yes, we need this cleansing every once in awhile.....

CC - Can one truly wipe out or clean a brain niche --- I was wrong, as:  "Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before." Edgar Allen Poe (quote) sometimes your writing reminds me...
Welcome back from your introspective projection ~ but I imagine the 'caves' are yet with silvery flicker.  EE

Cave
See? I knew it!  You're a druid!  Fascinating poem, but don't expect me to tell the wife exactly what it's all about.
I just sort of let it go through me and pick out the here and there delights of your smorgasbord.  Sounds like there may be still another poem in there somewhere.
And earnest thanks for your good words!  Notice, I didn't say a word about John Wayne.
