- Go to He was Palestinian... she was a Jew.
sEVERL POEMS i'VE READ and liked what I found.
How true about the palestinian and the Jew. No other words could be more true. I'm impressed with the flow of your words. MichuudBlaine

I don't see anyhing political here either. It's the allegory of love and circumstance--Romeo and Julliette-- and that was just about feuidng families. But the problem of love and mixed marriges and the chasm of cultures is not endemnic to just this stituation. Just consider (before eccumenism) Catholics and Protestants, Genitle and Jews, not to mention Greeks and Turks. So I think your theme is quite universal. There are a lot of things cultural that separate us--even our own personalities.

Tzippy, this , or something similar, happened to a friend of mine. When she told me, the sadness of what could have been and would never be stayed with me... and last night while having an attack of the "poor me, poor me" , (ungrateful that I am :-)), I realized how lucky I had been that I was free to choose and love whomever I so wished . I wrote it as a tribute to all those budding loves that because of circunstances created by life can never be, not as a political statement, though after reading it again I guess it does make a point.

I hope that one day we will be free of all this and love naturally again without fear.

I would like to know the inspiration behind this poem
because its personal and important to me...... was that inspired by a thought, or by a real moment? etc etc.
