ugh. not only does this sound disgusting, but unsanitary as well. Our astronauts may come home well fed, but also infected with c-diff, h-pylori, and any number of other illnesses. When you figure in the added weight of proper bacteria-nixxing equipment, you might as well just pack the extra food and deal with 3 years of dirty laundry. Or figure out a way to recycle the dirty laundry for other purposes. Also, what's the difference how much dirty laundry they're coming down with, when it's the same clothing they're going up with in the first place. It's not like they're stopping at the Galactic WalMart and picking up new outfits every week...

Something really bugs me about this...
Do Chicken feathers become edible in space? Why are they edible only in space? Are they in fact edible here on earth, and I just don't know about it? I had to ask!

I don't think they'd get much juice out of a jumpsuit.
Wouldn't it be a more logical step would be to take along a few chickens -- eggs, meat, feathers for quilts, recyclable waste -- maybe a small garden box of dirt and a grow light.
