I hope that your associates come to the realization that you have, that quick fixes are not going to do anyone any good. Such short-sighted approaches can bankrupt companies quickly.

The day off once a week is just common sense.
Your body and mind need recuperation time. And contemplating what's important ain't a bad thing, either, helps keep priorities in order.  If I were you, meeting with the associates today as you describe it would be like the classic showdown at the OK corral. I wish you luck and the outcome you want.
