I read this earlier and it drove me to go waste time looking for a photo I snapped of Voltaire's antique writing desk on display at Restaurant Le Procope in Paris.  It's supposed to be the oldest cafe in Paris and boasts such famous patrons as Voltaire, Danton, Robespierre, Molière, Diderot and Benjamin Franklin. I couldn't find the pic, of course, but the reason I even thought about it was because I definitely remember that there was no "le plume" sitting on the desk and I thought there ought to be to capture the elegance of France and a sign of those times.  I was disappointed.

That sounds fascinating to me as an ex entrepreneur in the printing business, after quills though.

Stop that, Pat_B. If I keep reading books, how will I ever get some work done?? Sounds like one I'd like to get into!
