a plane has just hit the second tower
That was a day that no one will forget..I watched it from the time it happened till they quite showing it on the news..and to this day I can still see what it looked like, and the devastation that it caused.  Horror everywhere.

Well conveyed..
Fit every meaning of nightmare, imo.

Re: somber
I see it more as an expression of solidarity with the dead and the bereaved.

That freezeframe will forever be imprinted on the minds of many.  Nor should we forget, for who knows when some such thing could happen again.

Yes that image was flashed so many times Bob it seemed almost unbelievable even after realizing that it had happened. I don't think anyone will forget it if they have a grain of pity in their minds.

And to school children
in first, second, third grade, even fourth -- it happened "then"  -- before they were born. It's history. It was before Ipods and texting, before Wii, the "olden days."  Seems to me like yesterday, a distinct hinge, a turning.

Such a terrible thing happened that day... I am shocked so many seem to have if not forgotten what was done to us, be willing to be civil to those who did such an unforgivable thing
