Cost of doing business is a lot more than in the past. Unions and their demands for more and more benefits is part of the reason we are outsourcing our jobs all over the world. If you want to know what low wages are ask a chinese person making goods for Wal-Mart. Many have gone on record talking about it.

Probably because of the lack of a union. Supply and demand is probably playing a major role too.

They have heaps of casual part time workers so there is little interaction and internetting between workers to get together and improve their wages. Good luck that you can get yoursel fout of that financial hole though.

I really can't say why a company would pay low; my thought would be they will pay the least they have to pay as long as people will work for what is offered! I do think not being union would make a great deal of difference! sam
