Somewhere around here I have Patty Duke's book. My DIL who died two years ago wanted me to read it because she wanted me to understand her and what she was dealing with. She was quite tormented and felt that no one understood her. I'm sure that the fact of the matter was that she did not understand herself. I thought Patty Duke's book was well done and informative.

Re: FSI
Perhaps taking it home will allow my daughter to see what is happening to the children. I haven't made a decision yet, but am considering the options. Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Re: lovelyladymonk
Thank you for the prayers. I just hope they can work out a treatment plan that she will stick with and even out the ups and downs a little.

Re: I lived with BI-POLAR...It is no joke
At least I know now what is wrong. She has been this way since she was about 13 or 14 and it has gotten steadily worse. I cannot imagine living with two people suffering from the disorder!

I feel that it is a wonderful idea for giving such a book to your granddaugther. Anything that can help her understand that it's not her fault is a great idea. As far as whether or not it should be at your house or given for her to take to her own residence that I do not know. I imagine that you will make the right decison.

I lived with BI-POLAR...It is no joke
Both my ex and his eldest son. They were governed by the seasons...how people laughed at me for suggesting this but it was true.
The equinox brought a change to them both. My ex went completely manic followed by depression from late march until Late September while his son reversed...going crazed from late September to late March. Therre were periods or weeks between that were unpredictable and terrible to deal with but they were /are the basic patterns. I understand your last statement ........sending you a hug.
