Whew!  I'm glad to hear it!  I didn't want to look, myself (er...WAS anything out of place?)

Bob, I'm checking out page three but nothing looks out of place....
great poem and great fun to read (satirical too, and the digs are quite sharply amusing)........

Re: For this I learned to Read
Thank you, and we should be glad that the page 3 item is rarely true.

Re: my friend
Thank you, Wiley.  I'm starting to find topics all over these days, but they don't all translate into verse as this one did.

Re:the way life is
not the changing of the guard itself, it's that the guard picks up the same old pikes!  Well no, that's not true either - everybody loves fantasy and gossip.  At 75, I suspect maybe it IS the changing after all. I guess you're right - I resent a little being out of the busy, nosy swirl I once was part of. "Who ARE these people??"

loll... They say one starts getting old when one stops accepting change... and what you speak about in your fabulous poem is just that... the change of guard... The little kids have grown up and they are grabbing the headlines.  The ones we know  now go to the second and even last page.  Sad but its the way life is :-)  xoxoxo

You're right, and if you also read the cereal box at breakfast, let's form a support group!

Funny read as I read your verse of words and I thought how we can't avoid seeing the written word even standing in a check out line and our words in Poetry are the easers upon out thoughts as we write for Blogit friends to read. Nicely done. Fema

All the information you get from tabloid headlines
is truer than a politician's sincerest, country and mother-loving utterance; it's also like a Bernie Madoff contract, not worth the price of the ink in his signature.
