Re: This was the most colorful batch, Mal--
a lot of bee hives, but not so many of the plain white ones I'm used to seeing. I am wondering if these are typical of Montana or more common other places, too.

Sometimes that momentum is a great pleasure.  And some shots you have to pass by, like the one of two horses in a small stable... One's head was hanging out one end of the building, the other's, at the other end of the stable, it's other end was hanging out...  One of the most wonderful images I never got because there was no place to stop.

Do you recall my photo essay about the man walking from the Northwest to Texas with his burro, Rosey?  I saw that man walking like he stepped out of the Old West and kept on going... and it took me three miles to realize I could not pass him by and live with myself!

Fantastic photos, I love them! And I know what you mean by the 'momentum of the road'; I too have often been captured by it, unable to resist its pull and resenting it...
