I so feel your pain and I sure wish you weren't leaving us.  A few weeks ago on the phone I was told by a "social" worker that my husband's 2 thou a month unemployment benefit was "an awful lot" for a family of five.  Such is life on the Big Blue Ball.

You will be very much missed.

Re:

Sounds like I need to go back to my roots, mon, and marry a Brit.

America looks good on t.v., but we are truly an unholy mess

of overspending and overcharging and under-serving our population.

Everyone throws around such hideously huge numbers of billions of dollars being spent on this and that and I know that a very careful group of lady accountants, bankers and stay at home mothers who budget carefully, could work out a more responsible, inexpensive and accountable system for the US government.

Dr. Yunus could do better things with our money within our nation than we do.

Counting your blessings and envious of them, heheheheh. Take care.

Wow! Sounds horrendous. Over here, when either of us is sick we just go to the doctor who prescribes medicines for us (free for the over-60s) or refers us to a specialist - all hospital treatment is free, so money is never mentioned. It's great - come and live in the UK!

I have two countries each wanting the other country to take care of me and two countries each wanting to tax me.  Don't jump out too quick.
