It does lift my spirits to see her happy and smiling. She's doing well in school also, in spite of her home situation. Kids are so resilient.

It is wonderful that she can feed and dress herself; but it has to be a major adjustment on your part! I would think seeing a happy, smiling child will make you feel better, too! Kudos to you, too! sam

Getting back into the swing of things can take a bit of time...Sounds like you have the perfect kid with whom to get your feet wet again with.
