Great concept there
and why you shouldn't wear shoes someone else broke in.
I always like to see plays I have seen before to see how a new cast handles it, what new set gets built for it. Theater magic!

I love the poem - very entertaining. "Crime does not pay ...the shadow always knows!" A line my husband quotes. He loves old radio broadcasts and the shadow is one he has listened to over and over again.

Re: Bob's Grabbag
thank you, Wiley! It's good hearing from you again. The play was My Three Angels and I was a little diffident because I was playing the conman part done by Humphrey Bogart in the movie. Bogart I am not. But Sid said,"That's okay. You make the character your own." Hence, I think, Sid's quote. Best to Kabu.

Re: the quote
Yes it is. In some ways it's a little like our own attitude when we post a poem. Some part of a creative performance always exists in someone else's mind, An unread poem or unheard piece of music is like a fuse waiting to be lit. At the other end of the fuse could be an explosion or a fizzle or something in between. It depends on so many things. Thanks for dropping by. Hope your computer problems are at an end.

Re:a couple of glasses of wine
Sure. Y'know, about us old guys, I'm still looking for the ones who've acquired wisdom with age. There's you and me, of course, but I'm not sure the others. About the acting, I'm not sure, but I will say this, at the cast party when everybody got a gag gift, mine was a plastic dinosaur - I was the oldest cast member by close to 20 years!
But let me shut up about age. It's been a good trip, and it's still going on.

What evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows. You reminded
me of childhood, listening to drama on radio where evil laughter echoes off the walls of a foggy alley (in my mind). I wonder how many people would love to read a book by an actor, an inside look at off-off-Broadway, the people, "the roar of greasepaint, the smell of the crowd."

Bob you could have been a famous actor, but I expect you would have not survived this long. love these old stories, so subtle and yet inspiring. There is something about old men that I hope to find out one day. Perhaps I have started I fall asleep after a couple of glasses of wine.
