A camera with binoculars would just be perfect for me..
Now I have to think of where to put them so that the kids cannot handle them unsupervised -before I go on and buy the camera- ..

I received as a gift a pair of binoculars with a camera incorporated in the glasses. I just have to figure out how to use them now, LOL. It sounds like they would be just what you need for the backyard pictures - you could photograph the birds and butterflies without having to get so close that they fly away.
